For Karapincha, our goal was to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lankan cuisine while ensuring the brand felt relevant to its fast-paced, grab-and-go audience. We carefully considered every design choice to reflect the authenticity of Sri Lankan home cooking, while keeping the overall experience modern, accessible, and in tune with the dynamic atmosphere of the Canary Wharf venue. Our aim was to strike a balance between tradition and contemporary simplicity, making the brand approachable yet true to its roots.
We started by analysing Canary Wharf’s high-energy, fast-paced environment. By understanding foot traffic and the dynamic atmosphere, we crafted a digital menu designed to capture attention quickly and engage customers on the move.
ENGAGING DIGITAL MENU
A digital display with a looping animation introduces the brand story and showcases signature dishes, making waiting time an engaging brand experience. This creates a stronger connection to the restaurant and its Sri Lankan heritage.
VISUAL STORYTELLING
By storyboarding key moments, we crafted visuals that communicate the brand story and emphasise the heritage behind the dishes, inspiring a deeper connection and encouraging customers to return.
Collaborating with their food and beverage consultant, we designed a menu that caters to Canary Wharf's fast-paced crowd, introducing a "build your own curry" concept perfect for busy, on-the-go diners. Each dish was carefully named and includes spice level indicators, adding a personal touch that reflects the brand's story of home-cooked Sri Lankan recipes. This design ensures customers can enjoy a unique and flavourful experience, even in a fast-food setting, while staying connected to the comforting essence of mum’s original curry recipe.
We used animation to bring Karapincha's brand story to life, showcasing the rich heritage behind the dishes. The focus was on creating engaging, informative content that captured attention, built a connection with the brand, and inspired customers to become loyal advocates beyond their dining experience.

These images not only entice customers but also bring the brand’s narrative to life, reinforcing its contemporary, yet timeless, identity.
